David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A representative for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about questionable actions directed at young women.
The publisher declined to specify the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
