"Look at such work. Look at this genocide," a fighter cheers.

He beams as he points the video equipment on his person and his fellow combatants, their paramilitary badges clearly shown: "They shall all die this way."

These individuals are exulting in a mass killing that aid workers fear resulted in the deaths of more than thousands of individuals in the African urban center of al-Fashir during October.

An Urban Center Isolated from the World
