The families of teens lost after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an painful wait for confirmed information and requesting clues about their family members online.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed images show the ceiling catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and wounded another over a hundred.
