Trump's Granddaughter Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star has considerable online audience
Kai Trump can count on plenty of high-profile supporters when she makes her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple courses worldwide and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she revealed.
She mentioned that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He practically told me to go out there and relax," she continued.
"To me, he's simply a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, making him quite busy."
Being non-professional, Kai has participated in just three tournaments this year and has position 461 in AJGA rankings.
But she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive human being. He suggested me to play, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple the biggest names in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that her participation exposes the sport to wider groups, particularly reaching youth audiences.
Kai boasts a massive following and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
